Payment Terms
We operate 7 day payment terms, as detailed on our invoices.
We accept credit/debit cards and BACS payments (our preferred method). We can also arrange direct debit payment methods.
Any invoices not paid within the 7 days of invoice, will be sent a reminder email. Payments still not received within 48 hours of the reminder email being sent may be subject to a £39 late payment fee and interest of 3% may be charged daily from the 14th day past invoice, until the date the payment clears our accounts.
This is as per the ‘Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998′ and applies to all contracts agreed after 7 August 2002.
If you wish to discuss alternative payment options prior to commencement of a project (for example, spreading the cost of a project over multiple months), do speak to us. We are often able to be flexible.
Payments For Website Design Projects
Once a project is commissioned we will issue an invoice for 50% of the total fee (this is non-refundable). The remaining 50% will be invoiced once the website is put live. Beyond this, all invoices are subject to our standard payment terms. We are happy to discuss alternative payment arrangements under certain circumstances.
Updates, additions and work pertaining to delivered websites will be charged by time taken at our normal, current hourly rate (unless a bespoke project price has been agreed). This is currently £75 per hour.
Hosting, Domain Management & Email Provision through Pollywiggle
While we work hard to ensure your site runs optimally and continually, we do not guarantee 100% uptime. From time to time your site may be offline as a result of a technical issue, or be required to be offline for server maintenance. We will keep you informed about any such situation if it extends beyond a short amount of time, and do everything that we can to minimise any disruption to your service.
Hosting – Payment
If you pay for your hosting on a Direct Debit basis and wish to host your website elsewhere, then we require one month’s notice before termination of our arrangement.
If you have pay for your hosting on an annual basis and wish to migrate away before the end of your paid-up term, we offer no part-refunds or pro-rata refunds for any time your site will not be hosted with us but for which you have paid for.
Hosting – Control
If your website is hosted on the servers that we use, then we retain the right to ultimate administrative control. Should you require ultimate administrative privileges, then your website would have to be hosted elsewhere. This is to protect the integrity and security of the servers that we use, and other client websites hosted on them.
This also applies to domain level access and email set-up access. Direct access is not permissible in order to protect the integrity and security of our account areas, and other client domains and email mailboxes held there.
The email mailboxes offered with our hosting plans are complimentary optional extras on top of the hosting services, and technical support for email client integration or troubleshooting is not included. Should you choose not to take these mailboxes, we can suggest alternatives.
Domain Name Management
In order to provide our full range of hosting services, it is necessary for your domain name to be under our control. Domain name renewals will be administered via Pollywiggle in a timely fashion, ensuring your renewal does not lapse (unless you request that it should).
Moving Away
Should you wish to move your website away from Pollywiggle you may do so at any time, bearing in mind the points above relating to hosting, domains and email. We will attempt to help you should you wish to migrate your website or transfer your domain name away so far as is reasonably possible. If migration away takes an unreasonable amount of our time as a result of client needs (for example your new designer does not know how to set up your website at the new host), additional charges may be incurred.
If migration involves us sending you the websites files and/or database, once these are in your ownership and control, we bear no further liability or responsibility for them or what you choose to do with them after we have sent them to you.
